Overview

Content managers oversee the creative marketing materials used by business’ websites, social media channels, and promotional campaigns. This includes both written (i.e. blog articles and web copy) and multimedia content (i.e. videos and podcasts). These professionals typically work with an in-house creative team or source their materials from freelancers, and are responsible for ensuring a brand’s tone, style, and themes are applied and made consistent.

Skills in time management and organisation are key, as content managers are often expected to manage multiple deadlines, projects, and schedules. They are also required to keep track of new targets, style rules, and performance metrics, directing teams according to these guidelines.

In smaller companies,, a content manager may be responsible for creating most (or even all) of their business’ marketing materials.
