Overview
An Assistant Software Project Manager (progressing into Software Project Manager over time) helps plan, deliver and monitor projects focused on software applications, platforms and internal systems. They work closely with developers, testers, architects, product owners and business stakeholders to turn requirements into working software. Day to day, they support planning, sprint coordination, status tracking and stakeholder communication, gradually taking ownership of smaller projects or workstreams. This role suits someone with technical awareness and project training who wants to grow into leading end-to-end software delivery initiatives.
Key Skills
Support the planning and delivery of software projects (applications, platforms, integrations, feature releases)
Coordinate backlogs, sprints, dependencies and releases using agile and hybrid delivery practices
Work with developers, testers, product owners, vendors and business stakeholders to track progress and resolve blockers
Prepare status reports, simple dashboards and RAID logs for project, PMO and product stakeholders
Help manage scope, priorities, risks and issues, and support change, release and incident processes
Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complex detail into plain language
Salary Range
$66,000 - $124,000 (Median: $90,583)
